That was part time effort. Thanks to George VE2NGH for QC mult. Looked like QC was really rare during that test.

Re:ARRL SS SSB 2010 - 2010/11/22 22:26 Hi all,

Well saturday afternoon, I had at lot of noise on 20m with my beam directed from 210 to 270 with a big sparking noise from a local power pole isolator I think so my best choice was the dipole. I had been in S&P most of time with only exactly 1 hour of running time in 80m which has really paid of. 68 QSO in 1 hour with that long exchange with my little setup is really good I think. I haven't worked or heard any VE2 on this one. The QC section was really needed as a lot of hams told me thanks for the multiplier, far more than usual.

Re:ARRL SS SSB 2010 - 2010/11/23 12:08 Hello,
Survived another contest.
Well, it was the ON/OFF style. Working for short periods and walking away is not the most efficient way but then it is not streneous either.
Actually, SSB is not my favorite but I felt I should get my feet wet once more to build up my skills(?).  Like Victor said, not many QC hams in the contest As a matter of fact, several US hams expressed their "gratitude" when I called them. Made me feel like a "Most wanted section" station. Rather unusual to say the least.
Did not get a QC in my log. Heard VE2AWR giving his report to a US station. Being in S&P mode makes us a moving target for another S&P op. Anyway, it was interesting and now I know for sure that SSB is still at the bottom of my favorite modes. But not off the list....yet.
So here is the modest score:

 CallSign Used :  VE2AXO
    Operator(s) : VE2AXO

Operator Category : SOAB LP
            Mode : SSB

Default Exchange : A 49 QC
     Gridsquare : FN35cm

        Band    QSOs    Sec
         80        72      20
         40        29       9
         20        66      32
         15        11       4

       Total    178      65  ==> 23140 pts

Op time:  about 9 hrs (in multi segments)

73, all and have fun next weekend

Re:ARRL SS SSB 2010 - 2010/11/25 14:26 Hello,

I was looking forward to the Sweepstakes this year since my major goal was to improve my WAS award.
Not many QC operators around. Thanks Victor for giving me your CQ frequency.
Other "rare" sections were VT, MS, and EWA, but I finally managed to grab them.
15m was terrific and I even worked a KH6 in Hawaii who was operating with 5 watts! 80m was the quietest I have heard at my QTH and I worked most of Saturday night. I was really pleased on the performance of my 80m half-sloper with quiet conditions. I got a call from my neighbor at 1:30AM saying that I was interfering with her radio. I told her to please go back to sleep!

So here is my modest score:

Band    QSOs    Pts  Sec
  3.5      82     164   14
    7     107     214   27
   14      63     126   33
   21      45      90    6
Total     297     594   80
Score: 47,520

Total operating time: approx. 16hrs on-and-off.
