Pas beaucoup de temps à faire celui-là et les conditions dans les bandes hautes étaient superbes samedi mais avec le flux à 143 dimanche, j'ai manqué le 10m ouvert encore à 17:20 local. Le 40m vendredi soir était à proscrire car trop engorgé. Le soleil nous donne du fun enfin avec les black out qui viendront avec aussi.

My first contest at high power and being assisted.

The 10m band was wide open today (sunday) but the lack of a decent antenna on this band prevented me from capitalizing on this opening.

15m was my most successfull band.

I heard Luc on the bands but I must admit that we are not too far from each other.
I heard stations answering VA2WA and VE2XAA so I know you were doing a fine job guys as usual.

I found a way to use the CONTOUR feature on my the FT-950 and the results were amazing.
I programmed it to notch at -40 dB (max setting) and I used it to cut through the QRM.
The results were amazing and permitted me to make some very difficult QSOs.
This radio is really amazing.

Being more at ease with my AL-811H I pushed it closer to its full output power
and it helped me to bag some difficult QSOs.

Had a lot of fun.

Entre le pelletage et les courses de fin de semaine, c’est ce que j’ai réussi à faire. Je voulais me familiariser avec N1MM et bien c’est fait. Ça fonctionne très bien en SO2V avec mon FT-1000MP.

Belle ouverture sur 10m toute la fin de semaine. Le 15m a été fantastique, même des JA au souper et des UA0 en soirée samedi. Comme dans le bon temps. J’ai manqué l’ouverture de ce soir, raison de souper de famille.

Pas facile avec 1po de verglas sur les antennes, surtout 40 et 80m. Merci LDG…

C'est sûr qu'il faut contourner les folies WX ces jours-ci.

Bonjour,

Well here are my scores.
Even though the log shows 17:45 hrs operating I had a lot of distractions Saturday afternoon with visits and errands. I left the logging program running all the time! My actual operating time was around 12 hrs.
Was doing mostly S&P.

Propagation was very good and it was nice to see 10m start to perform for me to VK, ZL, JA, Africa. Still need those elusive Far East contacts.
15m was really fantastic but 40m was a real zoo! I liked when they operated split on 40m - it saved my ears!

I learned to use the notch filters to get rid of QRM along with the IF shift/width and RF gain controls. The notch filter works quite well on SSB.

I had a lot of fun. Looking forward to CQ WPX SSB.
