Not really my favorite contest. The exchange is too long even with a WAV MC. For me, all that is longer than "five-nine, five-nine QSL" is too long.

I was in Montreal during this weekend and came back only late on Sunday PM.

What a nice contest and quite different from its CW counterpart.
So different that I got NWT on 15m on my 42nd QSO.

I operated on 15m for my first 2½ hours.
I gave their missing QC section to some very happy AK stations on this band.

The long exchange makes operation more challenging and much more fun.
All the operators I met on the air were very courteous and showed
a high level of professionalism. They were always glad to repeat the parts
of the exchange that were missing.

Long live the Sweepstakes.

Due to commitments I could only operate about 11 hours on-and-off over the weekend. I wish I could have had more operating time as sweepstakes is one of my favorites! But I achieved my goal of 80 sections.
Sweepstakes is truly a "gentlemen's" contest - the operators are so polite and patient. It took me a little time to get used to the long exchange after one year!

I had a lot of power-line noise on 80m through 20m. The noise blanker was working overtime! Maybe it is the change in temperature effect on the power lines or some insulators need to be replaced on the Hydro lines in the back of the house. I have to keep monitoring this situation.

I also made some AK guys very happy on 15m. Someone told me that QC was scarce this year. I got NWT and NL within a few hours of starting the contest. This year it was NLI and SK which was rare for me and I worked only late Sunday. Worked VE2AWR and VE2HIT for QC.

Looking forward to ARRL 10m this year. I hope the sunspots pick up a bit more!

Jean ton résultat est impressionnant compte tenu de la règle qu'on ne peut faire une station qu'une seule fois peu importe la bande.
