CQWW WPX contest SSB 2013 - 2013/03/27 14:21 Cette fin de semaine c'est le WPX SSB.

Comme j'ai l'indicatif special VB2T pour la SSB et la CW, je vais m'essayer serieusement à la phonie.

Si ta participation est sérieuse Gilles, n'oublie pas de préparer un fichier audio pour CQ VB2T, VB2T QRZ et VB2T. Tu vas te sauver d'un bon mal de gorge lundi car tu seras le seul multi VB2.

Good luck Gilles with VBT2!

It is bad timing this year for a contest on Easter weekend.
No Multi this time. I will be running Single-Op HP but only Friday and Saturday.
I will try to do some operating on Sunday but basically I am with family for Easter.

I just hope that the TH7 antenna does not fail completely. I might have to turn down the power a bit.

Tu vas être très populaire pour WPX.
Si tu étais seul 36 heures maximum avec minimum de 60 min hors d'onde.
Je vais participer SOAB HP sans viser le maximum d'heure.

Pourrais-tu me dire le délais pour obtenir des lettres spéciales et c'est bon pour combien de semaine ?

Propagation assez ordinaire et bizarre. J'ai passé devant plusieurs grosses stations ce matin à 100w sur des BY et un YB avant de quitter et le 15m était encore ouvert vers EU à mon retour fin PM. J'ai fait beaucoup de RUN sur 20m avec les USA ce qui a fait monter mon nombre de Qs mais pas les points.

Je me suis amusé à écouter Gilles par moment. Je copiais 1 stations sur 3. Une autre preuve que l'antenne et la hauteur, c'est ce qui est le plus important. Beaucoup de plaisir quand même.

Re:CQWW WPX contest SSB 2013 - 2013/03/31 20:52 Conditions assez mauvaises au début jusqu'à samedi vers 16 utc car l'index était passé de 8 à 28!! Donc 80-160m ont souffert de l'absorbtion. Cela a descendu dimanche durant la journée. Cela a permis au 15m d'ouvrir et de soulager le 20m. Pour moi la station avec le signal le plus fort était VU2RCT +5db sur 15m pour la distance. Aussi plusieurs stations de la Chine sur 15m pour 30-45 minutes.
Concours a terminé avec le début de la pluie...

My first mono op full time phone contest.

The main discover is that my voice was surprisingly ok for 36 hours (using only the CQ voice recording + sometimes the TNX QRZ) but the Heil headset was coming very painful on the head and ears by the time. In CW I use a HIFI headset which is far more comfortable. The perfect tool should be my HIFI headset with the marvelous Heil microphone.

Interesting changing conditions needing to adapt the time and sleep strategy: During the first hours I got the feeling that the bad conditions will stay then I slept 7 hours the first night and discovered the morning that K got to 5 during 6 hours while I was sleeping. Then, well rested I was able to sleep only 3 hours the next night and get the maximum of the better conditions.

During the last 6 hours the S-9 old last year local arcing style noise in direction 65 degrees came back. happily the signals were very strong from Europe and the traffic was possible with few lost q's the first 3 hours of the noise. The 3 last hours the signals dropped and it was not possible any more to work Europe on any band with this noise then I worked only North-South and I was surprised to see how many SA stations were calling me and how few JA`s had the idea to turn they antennas to NA.

Thanks to all the club members who called me and especially to Rejean who catched me on 4 bands.

Re:CQWW WPX contest SSB 2013 - 2013/04/01 11:59 Belle performance Gilles. Les efforts des dernières années ne furent pas en vain avec un tel résultat. Je crois que tu as gagné le 6 db qu'il te manquait.

Pour ce qui du headset Heil, on n'a tous eu le problème d'inconfort à un moment donné. À ce prix, Bob devrait fournir dans la boite un petit morceau de mousse rigide et un Ty-rap pour l'ajustement final.

P.S. Par expérience, c'est moins lourd qu'un jeu de carte !
