CQWW SSB 2013 - 2013/10/24 12:50 Bonjour/Hi,

This weekend the CQ WW SSB will be going on. I'm going to try my new location antennas as SOAB HP Assisted. Unfortunately I couldn't be in the contest all the 48 hours but I hope to be active at least 32-36 hours.

Hope the bands condition will be good.

Good luck to all! CU in the contest!

Re:CQWW SSB 2013 - 2013/10/24 13:06 Hello,

I will be operating Multi-One HP this weekend with Cliff VA2UTC using my new call VA2EN. We plan to operate the entire 48 hrs. I hope propagation will be good and that the Hydro line noise I have been experiencing lately will quiet down a bit.

Good luck Victor with your new antennas. You should do very well in your quiet location.

Good luck to everyone and CU on the air.

73,
George

Re:CQWW SSB 2013 - 2013/10/24 18:35 The SFI=160 now and should be higher in the next days. It’s may be «the DX week-end of the year» like during the 2011 contest. I hope than 10m will be open like this week.

Victor, I hope that your success will be greater than the effort you put during the summer and fall.

I should be there for few hundred Qs

Have fun everybody

Re:CQWW SSB 2013 - 2013/10/24 21:04 Bonne chance messieurs.   Pour ma part, je vais profiter de la propagation en digital.

Re:CQWW SSB 2013 - 2013/10/25 10:34 Sorry to not be able to organise a multi-one this year, since last week 3 workers are  around the swimming pool with big and noisy machines. I have to constantly supervise that and coordinate. Then no time for planning a multi-one station and antennas.
Of course I will participate and will focus on DX especially 10 meters then I will be assisted.

Good luck to George`s team and I whish fun to Victor

Re:CQWW SSB 2013 - 2013/10/28 09:59 Bonjour a tous))

That was a great contest. Great propagation. The same as that was in 2011.

As you see that was a part-time operation. My new job boss wanted me to come to office on Sunday afternoon to do some stupid network upgrade (I'm working as sysadmin to earn money for my HAM radio "disease"). So I couldn't count on getting a good position in the SOAB HP Assisted category.

I've got my vertical broken just right before the contest. It's not a big deal to repair but would take few hours. Since I couldn't run for full time and the result was not a target I decided to concentrate on testing of my "fresh" installed SteppIR yagi DB-11 on 20-15-10 and to try different phone contesting "techniques" for future phone contests. Of course I enjoyed propagation on 20-15-10. It was really beautiful!. I was really surprised to see how many interesting things I usually miss switching to 40-80 right before sunset! The 20m band was opened almost 24 hours! European station were loud during all the night! An endless JA pile-up! I was lucky to get even a small pile-up from YB stations!

The new set up was working pretty nice so I could run pile-ups with a maximum rate up to 239 q/h. (That means a full hour since a 5 minutes rate sometimes was over 360 q/h).

Thanks for all the QSO's! CU in the CQ WW CW 2013!

73!

Victor

Victor happy to see the new site doing well with the new tower/beam. Hours of pleasure to come.
