WINTEST TEST NR3 - 2008/07/28 10:27 Hello
If you want to test WinTest again tonight at 8.30H..
We will test a dummy log with serial numbers..
The contest will be the WPX CW
When you open WIntest choose file>>>NEW....give the name wpxwintest3
In the contest configuration choose CQWW WPX
Instead of STN1 or STN2 etc ...just put you suffix...
Mine is FWW   Phil will be FU...Victor WDQ  ect.
AND UNCHECK I SAY UNCHECK "Enable time distribution across the network"
Suggestions: Open the STATUS Window
                   Open the gab Window
ALso make sure you are on the good band....

FWW: 20M
FU:     40M
SG:     10M
WDQ:  15M
DX:      80M
XAA.     160M

Just one question. I found that WIN-TEST doesn't support WSM mode as N1MM. Is that correct? Actually I used to that with my N1MM.

Here is a few F.A.Q. from WIN-TEST web site:

Q : I’m not interested in version 3. Will you continue development on version 2 ?

A : Unfortunately not. The version 2.32.1 is the last release, and we will no more improve it. Nevertheless, we will give help for users who choosed to use it, and maintain it *only* in the case of major breaking bugs. [Breaking news : A last v2 update will be released soon to fix minor bugs]

Q : Are you still selling the version 2 ?

A : No. As the v2 will no more improve, we think it is a bad idea to keep selling a discontinued software.

Q : I have numerous log files created with v2. Are they compatible with version 3 ?

A : WT 3 will automatically convert your v2 logs to the v3 format, and save the original v2 file with the wt2 extension (mylog.wt2) if you want. This allows you to re-open this file with a WT 2 - just in case ! See above how to keep a registered v2.

Q : In a networked environment, can we mix WT v2 and WT v3 ?

A : No. As usual, you must have the same WT version on every connected computer.

So that's important to have the same log version for M/M activity. If I'm going to purchase WIN-TEST I'd like to buy version 3. Otherwise I have to pay for upgrade from my version to the new one.

You pay once, and you install it on many computers. It requires only one key for each computer which is given by a robot....

IN vers 3.21 there is a feature  RUN /or/  S/P  that enables different message from the F keys ...and this is desable as default. I dont use it but you can read more on the HELP files IN WIKI form. Also I think feature comes alive in a different matter if you are in SO2R or not.

Also many features are planned for a eventual version 4 ...more on this can be read on the site.

Sorry I dont have the direct link for those but alot of info comes from the support group.

Noel. That is my fault. I came to home and found that I have 3.20.  I thought mistaken that I have installed v2. As I remember you asked to install not the latest one version and I was at my work. May be I just was tired too much))))

I asked to install the version 3.20.0 because it was at this time the more stable...
Now there is 3.22 I do beleive...not sure...
By the way I asked about Wintest for MM ...
If all computers belong to the same operator or the same person, we only need one softwwre....
In our case, If we want to work in an MM environment, every body will have to
purchase one software....
I have here 4 computers and only one WinTest software, as the computers belong to the same person...
I was just testing Wintest yesterday for the WAE cw....
I wanted to see how Wintest handles the QTC's ..It is working like hell.
It is now so easy to send or receive QTC's...or repeat a part of a qtc...
For example, repeat only the time....or only the nr in the qtc or only the call.
I liked it very much....very easy....
