WAE CW 2009 - 2009/08/06 17:53 INFO FROM DL8WPX
------------------------------

Dear fellow contesters,

Once again I like to take the opportunity to thank you for your very active participation in the WAEDC CW 2008. For the first time we have received more than 1.000 logs for the CW part alone. Competition was fierce and we got many record breaking results.

Now the 55th season of this traditional event is under way and I invite you to participate in the WAEDC CW, starting this Saturday 0000Z.

Please be aware that we have changed some details in our rules. As always you can find the latest version here:
http://www.waedc.de -> Rules.

Most importantly, the deadline for log submissions was changed, the period shortened from one month to merely two weeks (see rule 14). This will help us to decouple the log reception for the CW part in August and the SSB part in early September, speeding up the publication of results. Anybody feeling unable to submit the log in time should contact me directly to find a suitable solution.

Now lets hope for some good condx.
Enjoy the contest, have fun!

Jean-Pierre as usually - unusual!

Can somebody advise: how you add the CGQ in 3830 reflector report?
I can not. But I saw that Gilles VE2TZT and Claude VE2FK do it.

Multipliers are not weighted according to band in this grid. It is the actual number of countries.

Because of poor propagation and lack of participants, it was difficult to enter the contest and find the motivation the first day, then I have not spent much time in the shack. The second day was better with more fun.

Thank you Alexey for spotting me several times. In this contest with low participation and permitted spotting assistance, spots are really improving the rates. It is the first time that I really see an improvement with spots. In other more participated contests, it seems that spots are lowering the rates because of the mess induced by the pile-up effect.

More and more big stations are asking QTC's all the time, breacking the rates (it is not efficient to send a QTC block for one or two QTC's) and lowering the luck for small EU pistols to be heard. It is getting irritating. To limit that, the rules should limit, for the EU stations, the number of QTC's to the number of QSO's.

For Alex : to put the name of the club in 3830, you must choose the 3rd line in the ''Club'' ''Others (Specify when prompted)'' then a line appears at the top of your screen to input the name of the club. If your navigator have some script protection you will need to click in this line to give the clearance to the script and then re-do a second time the ''Club'' 3rd line selection to have the right input line at the top of the screen. Good luck...
