2014 ARRL Sept. VHF Contest - 2014/09/12 22:53 Bonjour/Hi,

I will be operating ARRL September VHF contest this Sunday Sept. 14 from Mount Hereford in the Eastern Townships as a multi-op portable station. Our operators will be VE2NGH, VA2KEY, and VE2EGN.

Mount Hereford is locator FN45eb with elevation 863m ASL.
We will have 150 watts 6m SSB and CW with 5 el beam, also 160 watts on 2m SSB and CW with 13 el beam and we will operate on both bands simultaneously although we can only transmit on one band at a time.

We will be using call-sign VE2NGH and we should be QRV by 12 PM local time until  at least 6 PM local. When you contact us please give us some time to turn our antennas towards you as the beams are highly directional.

Please look for us and hope to cu on the air!

73!

Very poor propagation conditions. Farthest contact was FN02 near Rochester and FN20 in New Jersey. No VE contacts. The timing of the WAE SSB contest did not help.

Very cold (8 deg. C) at summit and quite windy conditions thus it was a good idea to bring a tent. Also we had a flat tire on one car which delayed our start. Only operated for 3 hours.
But we had a lot of fun and we had some good practice for portable operation.
