Claude,

WRTC stations were using a very modest antennas and theres power was limited to 100 watts. I know that almost every team were using splitters (allows to work simultaneously on the same tribender on different bands) and band pass filters.

So a real output was around 75 watts..

My WRTC list:

R39R VK2IA - VK6LW
R36K 4O3A - 4O7NT
R32C DL6FBL - DL3DXX
R36Z OH6UM - OH7JT
R36O RX9TL - RL3FT
R33M N6MJ - KL9A
R32K RV3BA - RA3CO
R32F RW1AC - RA1AIP
R33L VE3DZ - VE3XB
R32R LY9A - LY6A
R37P I2WIJ - IK1HJS
R34W OM3BH - OM3GI
R37A W4PA - K6LA
R37Q 5B4WN - 5B4AFM
R38K N5DX - K5GO

Re:IARU 2010 - WRTC - 2010/07/15 06:52 This may be a dumb question. How can they be sure of the scores if they dont have all the logs? I know they ask eveybody to send logs 6 hours after the contest but thats probablt not enough. Jean-Pierre VA2SG - VE2SSS

Re:IARU 2010 - WRTC - 2010/07/15 07:29 Victor I was S&P  95% during the IARU but did not use Clusters at all, maybe I should have... to find them. At least I worked one that you dont hi.

Re:IARU 2010 - WRTC - 2010/07/15 09:22 J-P,

WRTC received 1401 logs ( http://www.wrtc2010.ru/?id=69 ). At least that allowed to create the contest callsigns master data file.

All team was supervised by a personal judge who was listening all the contest by a stereo headphone (one air for a station 1 and another one to a station 2). So the contest log has being mostly checked up right after it has been over.

As I know after the test judges just uploaded all received Cabrillo's to a server with a WRTC software and checked up only unique QSO's were not confirmed by that program and concentrated on mults.

So they did an excellent job! The K1ZZ gave a very high testimonials to everyone who provided WRTC-2010.

That could be so nice every one contest results will be delivered so fast )))

Claude,

I didn't use cluster at all in the IARU. I found that much more exciting vs. to go to an Assisted category. I did few major contests  ( WW-2009, WPX-2009 and few more) as Assisted and felt myself no comfortable. Working with cluster I feel myself as I'm a computer part which does just "click and call" option))) That's good if target is to pick up DXCC or WAS for an award.

Wow! Just looked at the WRTC final results on the http://www.wrtc2010.ru/result_table.php

Looks like I have to purchase Win-Test and finally skip N1MM )))

I feel the same about clusters.

Re:IARU 2010 - WRTC - 2010/07/15 17:47 Thanks Victor for the link. Yes, very impressive the amount of K3, FT1000 and Win-Test.
Since I have the K3, I am claiming that FT1000 and MKV are not so far from the K3 and this very interesting grid confirms that.

The generalisation of the use of Win-Test is for reasons : its CT-like look + keys compatibility AND its very easy to use and reliable networking capability including through Internet make it a standard for multi-op contesters. K3LR (# 13 at WRTC 2010) was the first one and helped much in the improvement of Win-Test as a Beta tester.
As annouced a year ago, I have migrated to Win-test and worked the WPX with it.
Even the last avantage of Writelog that was audio recording/re-play by qso feature is now implemented on Win-Test with the advantage of using MP3 files far more compact than those of Writelog.
Yesterday I have tested the Win-Test networking and installed it on two other computers, very funny and so easy.
The most amazing is to see the logs automatically uploading the others computers missing qso as soon as you start a new position computer. You can stop a computer and restart it at any moment, or momentarily cut a network link, the logs will update on all computers as soon as the link is retablished.

I am planning to go to real SO2R using two computers networked. It will be easier to type/edit the callsigns from the two radios on two different keyboards rather than permanently switching with appropriate keys on the same keyboard and easier to transmit just by pushing the right F key without having to tell the unique computer which TX to use. It is even possible to use a third computer as assistant of the run station to key the next caller's callsign during a run.

The only bad thing compared to Writelog is that I find the navigation in the log not very easy.
