RAC Canada Day July 1 2026 - 2026/06/15 18:57
Hello CCdQ,
(Along with the Administration address, I copied Dub in the hope that he would respond if that address didn't work)
I'm writing to you and the Contest Club du Quebec regarding the upcoming Canada Day Contest. You may have seen in the RAC TCA journal that I am now managing the Canada Day contest and Vlad VE3JM will be looking after the Winter Contest.
Along with reminding our major Canadian Contest clubs of the upcoming Canada Day Contest on Wednesday July 1st , I wanted to advise them of two rule changes we are implementing beginning in 2026.
Self-spotting is permitted There is now a team category We will be sending reminders to past participants of our contests shortly before the events, but we wanted to make contesters aware of the new team category to allow time for organizing. We are hoping to have team entrants from each of our regions. This will be similar to NAQP, Sprints, and other contests you are no doubt familiar with.
The new team competition component of the contest allows the creation of teams of up to four to compete for a certificate for the top three team scores from around the globe.
Participants in any of the Single Operator categories form part of the team whose individual scores are added together to produce a team score. There are no club membership, distance, or meeting requirements for a team entry. Teams must be registered prior to the start of the contest.
The team’s registration form is directly available at: www.contest.rac.ca/registration.php or from the main menu at www.contest@rac.ca Note: July 1st falls on Wednesday in 2026, coming in conflict with the CW Ops two one-hour events at 1300Z and 1900Z. As these events are well attended, and we recommend that our CW participants operate below .025 or above .050 during these times. General Rules for the Canada Day contest can be found at: https://www.rac.ca/contesting-results/ Please let me know if you or your members have any questions.
