WRTC 2023 January award - 2022/10/05 14:42
Bonjour a tous,
Les organisateurs du WRTC 2023 en Italie organisent durant tout le mois de Janvier un diplome qui consiste a contacter sur toutes les bandes/modes du WRTC (80,40,20,15,10m) (CW et SS dans toutes les regions WRTC du monde les stations avec un sufixe special WRTC (exemple: VE2WRTC).
Nous sommes dans la région NA2 et étant le team leader de cette région les organisateurs m'ont demandé de diffuser cette information et éventuelement d'organiser les opérations dans la région.
Les organisateurs cherchent dans chaque région des opérateurs interessés à activer le callsign de facon intensive durant tout le mois de Janvier, il semblerait que cela va générer pour les intéressés de gros pile-up.
Avant de me lancer à organiser ça et demander un indicatif special, j'aimerai savoir si suffisement de monde au Québec est intéressé à opérer cet indicatif spécial. Dans le cas contraire, je déclinerai la demande des Italiens. Pour information, nos collègues du CCO ne sont pas intéressés.

The enthusiastic results of WRTC 2022 Award are pulling us to a 2023 section, and we are planning a fantastic WRTC 2023 AWARD for January 2023 along with the lines of WRTC 2022 Award.
It is planned to last only one month, and not 6 months as in 2022.
We would like to have Special Event Stations not only from Italy, but also stations active from every WRTC2022 Qualification Competition Area (es...AF1, NA2, EU9 etc.). https://www.wrtc2022.it/en/competitors-24.asp
If you, or your Team Mate, agree and want to be active in this project, we would like you to decide who will be the most active stations and operators that wants to be a S.E.S. in your Area. If there is only one Team Leader slot in your Area, there will be only one Special Callsign active, but it can be activated by a lot of stations and operators (from different locations and operators within the same Country) to cover all bands and modes at the same time, but only one station with the same callsign can be active for each band and/or mode .
If there are two or three Team Leaders in the Area (es. AS7, EU1, EU2, NA3, NA4 etc) there can be two or three Special Event Station only if in different Country. We will arrange this with each Team Leader, and Special Event Stations list will be published.
If no answer or availability by the Team Leader or Team Mate in time, the Area will be left without any Special Event Station.
The WRTC Award 2023 will be active on WRTC competition bands and modes (CW, SS (80,40,20,15,10 m.), no RTTY, FT8 or 160 m. Every station can be called once a day on every band and mode, but only once; rules will be published soon (but we need the list of S.E.S. before)
We have a very powerfull platform called "Hamaward" on which every authorized operator can login and add his qso's in real time to the cumulative log (most Contest Logging software can be used) and, of course, can be seen live. If multiple operator with same callsign are active, every authorized operator will be able to find out what and where are the active stations in real time, so it's easy not to have two stations (same callsign) on the same band and/or mode. Every TL or Tm will coordinate his Area.
We will ask you to request to your Telecommunication Ministry to authorize a special event station callsign with WRTC suffix (es..."PY1WRTC, or LZ2WRTC etc..." see Note 1) for the month of January. This will be the callsign used for the Award.
When the callsign is authorized, and operators are selected, you just have to communicate to us the operator's callsign and email and we will give to you the very easy instructions to enter the Hamaward platform and check before the first qso on January the first in 2023. (mandatory: operator email must be the acrive QRZ.COM email).
In 2022 all Special Event Stations had big pileups and the numbers are talking by themselves (you can check on qrz.com for es. II3WRTC): it will be a very big event and you will have high pileups enjoying radio for the whole month. The object of this Award is just to let people know what WRTC is, and make an amazing month in radio!
If you are not keen to this project would you please suggest us somebody, in your country, that would accept to take care of the setup of your Area?
We think also that some Team Leaders will take advantage of this opportunity to test their stations and setup.
