Re:IARU HF 2008 - 2008/07/06 21:15 Concernant le exchange:

5. Contest Exchange:
5.1. IARU member society HQ stations send signal report and official IARU member society abbreviation. IARU International Secretariat club station NU1AW counts as a HQ station.  Members of the IARU Administrative Council and the three IARU regional Executive committees send “AC,” “R1,””R2,” and “R3” as appropriate.

5.2. All others send signal report and ITU zone.

5.3 A complete exchange must be logged for each valid QSO

So, 599 RAC.

Re:IARU HF 2008 - 2008/07/07 07:19 Parfait et merci Fabi.

If weather is nice, I'll be at summer house to get less noise. So, in that case, I wont be on the chat. Let's hope the lake will give some reflection and GL everybody.

Re:IARU HF 2008 - 2008/07/07 10:14 Mes Amies,

Yesterday @ VE2DWA,
VA2UK, VE2GK, LW8EXF & VE2DWA tried operate three bands at same time:

10 meter CW: 500 watts @ TH7
40 meter SSB:  1KW @ dipole
80 meter SSB: 200 watts @ dipole

Not problem with interference.

nous sommes prêts

Re:IARU HF 2008 - 2008/07/09 10:48 Bonjour colleagues!
So short time left - so many things to do.
I am worried - not all band-mode occupied yet.
It is a good chance to tell all  Ham-Radio Canadians that VE2 is one of the best in Canada. But looks like we do not have enough capability to say that.... Unfortunately...
Claude could you give last update of the band-mode schedule?
Victor - is no possibilities to communicate between us during the contest? At least we have to know the frequency that everyone running to tell to correspondents and point them. If we cannot connect the computers directly through the internet I propose everyone to take ICQ number and communicate through ICQ chat. It is free, easy and fast.
Gilles, could you take one more mode - SSB 160? Anyway you will be on 160 time to time and can help people to take a multiplier-points VA2RAC.
Claudio, is it only 200W you can run on 80m? No way you can get more power for this band? Can somebody help Claudio with the HPA? I have 400W SB220, but my location too far from Claudio...

Hi Alexej,

I have prepared the CGQ website billboard page for a chat. The refresh time is 20 sec. and I have uploaded the new one version that the only messages window will be automatically refreshed. There is no freaking affect on a message enter form now. The chat text window has 45 visible rows. Anyway I keep all the chat history in a log for any possible future investigations.

Please test it.

We could use ICQ, MSN messenger as a back up.

Mine are: ICQ: 19191941 and MSN: victor_androsov@hotmail.com

Could be nice to have a list of CGQ VA2RAC members before the test. I don't think we should use contest logging software over netwoek for communications for the following reasons:

1. We don't share the same band-mode between different operators.
2. We are using different logging soft (N1MM, Wintest and may be others). That's not reasonable to change that since the worse operational effect could be.
3. That's a real technical challenge. Sometimes that's not easy to get through a router.

Re:IARU HF 2008 - 2008/07/09 11:11 Bonjour à tous!

As I see the band plan is the following:

160/CW.... VE2TZT (secondaire)
160/SSB.... VE2DWA
80/CW...... VE2TZT (principal)
80/SSB..... VE2DWA
40/CW...... VA2WDQ
40/SSB...... VE2DWA
20/CW...... VE2XAA
20/SSB...... VA2UP
15/CW....... VA2SG
15/SSB...... VA2SG
10/CW....... VE2DWA
10/SSB...... VE2DWA

Est-ce que c'est correct?

Claudio,

That's great! But 200W is not enough for 80m. Is that possible to use the same 500W PA you are going to use for 10m? I think these bands open opposite so you can use just the same one PA for both. Also I hope that the PA with 500w on 10m could give more then 500w on 80m band. May be 600-700w? That would be great!

73!

Victor
