ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/05 07:57Est-ce qu'il y en a qui vont faire le ARRL VHF Contest le 13 et 14 Septembre?
Anyone doing the ARRL VHF contest on September 13-14?
Bertrand.

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/05 13:07OK Daniel. Nos chances sont bonnes pour un QSO sur 432 (compte tenu de mes antennes). Je vais me tourner vers l'est et te chercherai. On pourra essayer 2M par la suite.
Cheers,
Bertrand

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/07 21:56I have installed the new one 7 el. yagi for 144 MHz today. It has 3.3 meters boom and about 10.7 dBd gain with F/B 25 dB. It's about 9 meters up and it's under my MQ-26. So I can rotate it. I'm ready for the contest on 50 and 144 MHz.
Unfortunately nobody was working today on 144.200 to try my new antenna ((((

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/08 12:03Bonjour Victor,
You should have told me. I am (almost) always available for a test! On 2M, I use an omnidirectional, horizontally polarized, EggbeaterII antenna and 100+ W. I have had QSOs with my friend Robert, VE2ASL in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, so it is workable Aylmer-Bouchervile with that setup. I also have 6M now, but we're kind of close for a Es contact. I guess Tropo would work, but I have tried yesterday evening with Robert, dipole to Squalo: Result NIL!
See you on the contest!
Cheers 73,
Bert, VE2ZAZ

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/08 12:13Bertrand merci!
Could we try a CW sked on 144.220 at 8:00 PM today? After that we can QSY to 50.130 to test 6m.

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/08 12:28What do you think if we are going to apply for CGQ team participation in the Contest?
We could present the CGQ in the Medium category since we all are in the QC ARRL section. So we could submit 50 or fewer entries!

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/08 13:44Hi Victor,
For tonight, I will be there. I will also be on the CGQ Billboard in case nothing works on 2M.
Regarding this weekend's contest, do we meet the following rule? "In Canada, clubs that are fully affiliated with the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) are eligible to submit scores for an Affiliated Club Competition event."
To be honest, I never submit results to ARRL; I have been doing it for fun, in a sporadic fashion during the weekend. On average, I make around 30 QSOs and a dozen grids during the whole weekend on 2m and 70cm. That's without the 6m band. Now that I have 6m with an omni, I guess it will be a few more.
I don't mind submitting as CGQ, but don't expect record-breaking scores from me. It's my younger son's 5th birthday this weekend. I guess you see the picture....
I guess from an operating and logging perspective, it does not change anything. The exchanged report is the grid square only. So nothing tells the others that I compete as a club, right?
In the previous response, I typo'ed. It should have read "my friend Robert, VE2ASL". BTW, Robert will also participate this weekend. maybe I can attract him into CGQ...
Cheers!
Bert.

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/09 12:59Hello all,
I will probably get on for at least a few hours from FN25bl on 6m (100w, 4-ele quad), 2m (100w, 8-ele quad), 1.25m (25w, 6-ele quad) and 70cm (20w, 8-ele quad).
All antennas are up about 35', but my 70cm setup needs some attention. I might be able to reach Bertrand VE2ZAZ on 70.

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/09 13:48Hi Alan,
I think you would reach me using a dummy load in your basement
Hope to talk to you. If we end up competing as CGQ, please join in!

Re:ARRL VHF Contest, Septembre 2008: QRV? - 2008/09/11 10:28Hello Guys...

La même pression qu'il te faudras aussi pour que soit installé en 6m ici...LoL! Pour le moment je n'ai qu'une dipole à 25 pieds de terre avec 8w (transverter 144/50).
Ciao! messieur on se vois sur le contest.
