IARU HF championships '09 - 2009/07/02 17:14 Bonjour,

So watch the BIG 5 watts signal from Ste-Clotilde!

Re:IARU HF championships '09 - 2009/07/10 13:57 Hi Victor

Heard alot stations calling you last night on 6M, here in Verchères not a peep from FO60.

Did you have 2M gear Victor ? I guess not but Sept-Iles not too far from here. If you have some, please give a call or a sked, FO60 looking good in a logbook...HI!

Salut Victor and good luck on your expedition.

Ciao! Dan

Daniel,

Sorry...  Unfortunately I can't work on 2 meters. I still have problem with 80m antenna setup.. There are lot of things to be done before the IARU test. I was working occasionally on 6 by using HiGain TH7 with tuner))))  If we've been lucky today we can catch good Es on 6 meters. I'm watching DX-cluster.

Wow! How is important a place for a contest position! That's almost anything except your operator's skill))) But it was a big "quest" for many con testers. I received often "zone ?" then "call ?" and again "zone ?" after sending VE2EKA 599 9 ))) Looks like we used to trust our contest logging software too much! And a logger always suggests zone 4 for VE2 by default! In some cases could be nice to have an ITU zone map on a table)))

Conditions were very poor on Saturday morning. The solar K index was jumped to 3 and we got even short high latitude Aurora during morning hours. Anyway conditions got improved afternoon. Low bands: 160-80-40 were not bad but there were too many QRN from southern thunderstorms.

10 meters was almost closed. I heard some activity from south but it was so difficult to get few QSO's there! Heard K1ZZ was CQ-ing there but he didn't hear me with my almost 1 kW and 4 el!!!

Saturday morning opening on 20 and 15 meters bands was so nice! I did S&P and was lucky to catch few new mults on 15. But it was time to stop((((

Sometimes run rate was up to 250 Q/M!

Thank you VE2XAA, VA2SG and VE2AWR for all the QSO's. J-P why did you send zone 8? Were you working from States?

Sorry I missed you Claude))) I didn't find zone 9 on 160m!

73!

Victor

Re:IARU HF championships '09 - 2009/07/12 20:17 Bravo Victor,
Heard you on 160m very loud working hard to work a DX but could not tune my antenna. Will have one for sure this fall.
Been on the road all weekend trying to find a deal on a new RV so nothing serious for me on IARU this year. Did you had all that static that I had on the south shore?

Any pictures?

Bravo again.
