Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/14 11:42I think I should move south... Too bad I was not doing 6m when I was in Ste-Julie hi. 6M really have to be open so I can hear signals, or maybe I should monitor more often. Good results Victor.

Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/14 12:33Claude,
Thanks))) The 6m band is very interesting BUT if you have a good antenna. A 3 el. yagi has a minimal gain you would need for enjoying a 6m "browsing" ))) I think your QTH is very good for 6m DX-ing especially for openenings to EU/AF. I remember 2 years ago an expedition to CY0 was concentrated on 6m band. They did a lot of nice DX QSO's. And CY0 is not far from your QTH.

Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/14 15:20Ok Victor, and voilà Pierre/VE2PIJ with 40 QSO. Bravo. Ok, I am now using only my 40m dipole/tuner. Have worked EUrope with it years ago but understand that was maybe special. So 3 elements is minimum and a good 5 would do a good job. I will try to find something, would like to make it portable also. 73 de Claude VE2FK

Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/16 13:14Bonjour tous le monde
ARRL VHF June : VA2EW
23 QSO 6m, 22 locators,506 pts

Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/20 09:38 I've gave up my VHF/UHF activity
Domage Victor, you was an active OP's on those bands and you was heard by many stations.
Have fun on 6m Victor, i'm still active on 144/432 and on 50 since I buy the TS-570S and can send little more RF in the sky.
Again, Bravo for you score on this contest Victor.
p.s Heard you few time on 6M that week end, didn't send the usual "73" but i'm sure you heard me also...

Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/21 10:26Daniel,
Me too I've heard you are active on six every good DX propagation. I decided to remove 2m antenna to have much space for the 6m beam. They always affected each other. Two other reasons: too low local activity on 144/432 and a huge QRM level increasing for a last year.
I'm looking for a land for a contest station very intensive. Unfortunately it's not easy to find a good "piece" starting from 2 acres for a good price and in a good place without neighbors. If I'll be lucky to find out one I'll install EME array. I have already purchased 2 x 12 el. K1FO and they are sitting in my "cabana" ))

Hi everyone,
I was happy to run the contest as portable station. On FN36fh Grid Square. I was located 25 feet south/east of Matambin Lake at Matambin Camping, Matawinie MRC, Lanaudière Administrative Region, Québec, Canada. Since start of June I wait the 6M good propagation conditions and still waiting... I keep in mind, I try, I had fun and I met few guys…
Thank’s and 73
VA2BS / Patrick
Voilà! Les conditions n'étaient pas en FN36fh. L'an dernier le mois de juillet était sublime... J'ai hâte de voir!

Re:2010 ARRL June VHF QSO Party - 2010/06/23 20:31ARRL June VHF QSO Party
Call: VE2DWA Station: VE2DWA Class: Single Op LP QTH: FN25bk Operating Time (hrs): <5
Summary: Band QSOs Mults ------------------- 6: 121 65 ------------------- Total: 121 65 Total Score = 7,865
I've operated with an old, very noisy and little deaf IC-551D.
It was a very part time operation, but I have lot of fun during the time I was in the air, W0EEA (DM79) was the most western station worked, but I'm sure the band was more farther open to the west. I've worked 10 new grids and C6 was a new one for my DXCC; as the radio haven't electronic keyer, I used my more than 60 year old J-38 straight key for my CW QSOs.
VE2GK, VE2ZAZ, VE2SHF were my VE2's QSOs.
I hope to be more active in 6 meter from now working the VUCC. Anyway as there was more than 10 stations on the air from FN25, this grid was very well represented in the contest.
