IARU 2010 - WRTC - 2010/07/08 16:46 Bonjour à tous/Hi guys,

The next Saturday, July 10 at 12:00 UTC (08:00 ETC) will start the ARRL IARU HF championship (SSB/CW/MIXED) http://www.arrl.org/iaru-hf-championship During IARU will be running WRTC-2010. So that would be wonderful event))

Let's help WRTC guys to get as many QSO's into there's logs as possible. You could watch online broadcasting and from that event by browsing this link: http://www.wrtc2010.ru/?id=80 I did today. That's amazing! All the best contesters are there.

I'm planning to be all 24 hours in the SOAB CW HP category.

First time in this contest. The conditions on 20m in the evening were great, no noise, great signals from Europe especially. 40m was noisy but with good signal. 80m was very noisy but I managed to work some DX with some long repeats: Victoria Echo 2 1 2 1 2 FLLLOORRRIIDDDAAA ECCCCSSSSRRRAYYY LIIIIMMMMAAAAAA. No high bands except 2 QSO at first on 15m with QSB.

Nice activity from VE2 guys!

That was an amazing contest. The propagation was 50 by 50. The second "fifty" gifted a nice openings on 10 meters and great overnight 20 m propagation. Just take a look at the CQ rate:

))) Later I had sometimes rate more then 240 Q/h. But there was not any hour more then 140 Q/h. Looks like that's a modest set-up limit.

I was very pleased to work Claude, VE2FK, of course Alexey, VE2XAA, Pierre, VE2QV and Jos Jean Guy, VE2BWL who is an owner of a beautiful real contest station.

BTW there are final news from WRTC-2010:

1st place: RW1AC/RA1AIP
2d place: ES5TV/ES2RR
3d place: N6MJ/KL9A

Canada won just one trophy: The best CW score (VE3DZ/VE3XB ).

Better a modest setup and a PRO operator than a Super Station and a poor opr.
Bravo Victor. I hope to do it more seriously next year, yes it's a nice contest.
