I was using my old TS-830S without CAT and bandmap. That was a fun )))

Re:RAC summer 2015 - 2015/07/02 18:45 I got the impression that I was just sitting and giving points to US stations, and VEs were rather rare... Worked few hours in the evening, so 20m was not very useful at shorter distances, 40m was more alive and that's where I spend most of the evening. Should have spent more time on 80m than just S&P.

There has to be a better strategy than mine (judging by the results) to attract VE2/VE3/VE9 etc vs. N0 etc..

Vlad,

Usually most of the VEs are working on CQ in this contest. And they never go for S/P. So the best practice is to use the second radio to sweep all the bands or to do some small breaks from CQ-ing and do S/P. ))) The winner always get an operator who has more VEs in a log.

Phil,

My congratulations with your result ))) Looks like this season you've got the SOAB CW jack pot!

Re:RAC summer 2015 - 2015/07/07 23:30 Thank you   Victor !

If you continu working contest with your TS-830S and One hand tied in your back
I may have some chances for some more wins !

With work, and family it  is hard even to do a serious 24hrs run.
I started the contest with a minus 8 hours sleep, I dont know how I managed to get to 2h30 in am !

73' Victor, and Congratulation  on your LP  effort.

CU in the IARU ... I will try to find a quiet SOSB !

Re:RAC summer 2015 - 2015/07/09 13:49 Thank you Victor,

Yes I should have picked every single RAC station that was running on any band I could. As you said.

Re:RAC summer 2015 - 2015/07/10 11:17 Vlad,

Of course! Since the every RAC station gives 20 points. That's equal to 10 QSOs with non Canadian stations. Also that always helps to ask QSY multipliers to another band especially to 6 and 2 meters.

Phil,

What I'm thinking about - to run one contest without PC at all. Just a transceiver, paper log and a Morse automatic key pad. Like in good old times ))
